LAS VEGAS, May 9, 2025 – Vay, a leading provider of automotive-grade remote driving technology, continues to scale its service to meet growing demand from Vegas residents. Following the opening of Vay’s Henderson production facility in January, Vay now has 50 customer-ready vehicles, an expanded operating area, and new app capabilities.
Vay’s remote driving delivery area now includes the UNLV campus, the majority of Chinatown, Rancho Manor, and Scotch Eighty. The Operational Service Area (ODD) has been expanded to respond to users’ in-app demand, aiming to better meet their needs. Vay offers a convenient door-to-door rental car service, allowing residents and visitors to bypass the usual hassles and fees associated with traditional rentals or ride-sharing. This includes avoiding long wait times, enjoying the flexibility to stop as often as desired along the way, and ensuring complete privacy.

“Las Vegas is the only city in the world where our service exists; a door-to-door, short-term car rental, delivered and parked by Remote Drivers,” said Thomas Von der Ohe, CEO and co-founder of Vay. “Users’ needs have guided our offerings, and we will continue to do so – solving daily transportation challenges and simplifying everyday life. We look forward to scaling this further in Vegas and beyond.”
Vay is always half the price of traditional rideshare and, in just 15 months, users have taken more than 10,000 trips. When users request a Vay vehicle, a Remote Driver delivers it to their location. When the user enters the car, the Remote Driver disconnects from the vehicle completely. This allows the user to take full control of the car, driving it like a regular vehicle, and enjoying full privacy. The user then ends the ride in the app anywhere in the service area on their own time.
Vay will soon be available on Android, with the same capabilities as iOS, making its remote driving car rental accessible to everyone. Android users can now pre-register to receive the app directly on their phones once it is released. In addition, both the iOS and Android apps will soon be updated with the new Remote Driver Parking feature. Previously, users had to park the vehicle in a permitted spot before ending the ride. Now, users can seamlessly hand over parking to a Remote Driver directly in the app. Remote Driver Parking eliminates the hassle of needing to find parking in busy or challenging areas like The Strip or Downtown. With just a tap, a Remote Driver can connect to the vehicle, take control within 30 seconds, and drive away, enabling users to step out at their desired destination – ending their trip instantly and stress-free. This feature was also developed to meet users’ demand, with 66% of respondents willing to pay a premium for it.
